Also standard or automatic makes a pretty noticeable difference

Yup!
I had 3:21's with 32's in my 6spd JK. It sucked, and that was on a 2 door.
If you have an Auto, 32's are bearable with 3:21's.
35's are gonna suck with 3:21's if there are any hills at all in your area. Off road will suck even more.
Especially with a 4 door.
I put 4:56's in with my 35's and it's perfect for the manual.
4:10's would be a better match for the 35's and an auto.

I had 285 70 17 's on my 2012 auto jku that worked okay with 3.21's. I replaced them a week ago with 295 70 17 's and while they are okay I would't want to go any bigger without a regear.
