Are the control ends rotating opposite directions on each arm? For example, if we take just one control arm, when you rotate the arm (slightly obviously) do both end of that arm not rotate the same? Like I said my jam nuts are barely tightened and my arms stay exactly where I set them.

If you are asking why the arms can't stay centered in the axle/frame mounts, they are not designed to do that, they cant stay straight in the mounts. If there was not room for rotational twist like in the photo you provided above, the suspension would bind terribly when articulated even slightly.

All of my arms look exactly the same as that photo you provided. The only arms that will remain centered are those that have a rubber bushing on one or both ends of the arm, but that rubber bushing will somewhat limit your flex.

I wouldn't worry about it unless the control arm can't rotate in the other direction. I don't believe there is anything in a johnny joint that will make it recentre itself after flexing. It might look funny but to be sure I would try and rotate it the other direction. I might be grasping at straws here but if one arm was adjusted longer than the other could that cause the arm/s to lean away from that side ???

Bodo,

I finished installing the Currie lift last week on my 4 door JK and I also noticed the cant. Mine look just like yours. When I called Currie, I was told that they are designed to cant back and forth, and they will just move the other way once you flex it. It does not matter how tight you have it, tightness won't effect the Johnny Joint articulation, it is supposed to do that. Call them on Monday.

Bodo,

First I'll like to apologize that you have not received a response on your email. In the future the best way to get a hold of me is to PM me direct, I check my PM box 3-4 times a day. BTW I check them on the weekends also.

Like some of the guys mentioned, there is nothing to keep the arm centered after you hit the road. When you twist the vehicle they will move freely either direction. Make sure that both Johnny Joints at the ends of the arms are "clocked" the same direction when you are done with the installation. I've found that the best way to do this is by using a large pry bar or screw driver and twist both ends of the arm in the direction that you will be tightening the large jam nut until they run out of "travel", this way you are not fighting trying to keep the ends clocked.

It's not "bull." Their design may allow the arms to rotate, but they also allow for more articulation than an arm with a conventional bushing on one or both ends. Accept it and enjoy it.

ummm, but the point is... they are TIGHT and that the entire arm is just rotating due to the johnny joints on both ends. are you following this yet? it's actually kind of funny if you think about it

The control arm will still work fine twisted or not. This is a Nice kit.
Just like running Rod End joints or other rebuildable joints Thay need to be tighten tight some times we even have to hit them with a air hamer.
We do have a new Product comming out to help the JAM NUT BLUES........

Try our EVO control arm skids,Thay will not only protect the control arm from rock damage but cover them so you can't see thay are twisted or not.

I would imagine that these have a screw/nut combination of some sort that tightens and makes sure that the jam nut doesn't back off... Nuts for your nuts.
