Default Carpet out?

How many of you take your carpet out of your JK, and what floor mats do you use? Also, is there an aftermarket storage door for the back storage area?

For those using Line-X. Are you doing it yourself (spray can), or getting it done professionally?

I took mine out but ended up putting the front back in. It made the cab really hot. Im not sure if bed liner or anything else would reduce the heat. The back is still out and I'll never put it back in.

May carpet has been out since the first week. I hope I can bed line it this fall. And as already stated, Tuffy makes a locking cover for the deck. If you search the threads there are a lot of pictures on here. One guy managed to get the carpet off of his deck lid and sprayed it too.

Is your JK significantly louder on the highway with the carpet out?

You won't notice the sound as much as the heat from the transmission tunnel. I don't run doors most of the year so the wind keeps the heat dissipated. It will get much warmer if you remove the carpet and keep the doors on. Mopar makes a rubber liner you can but to replace the carpet. I put one in my wife's Jeep.

I got mine professionally done...i knew I wouldnt be happy with the outcome if I did it myself...yes its hotter and alittle bit louder but well worth it to me it cost 650 for me to get it done and I had to strip the whole interior myself some pay 1500 some pay 500. Just for a roundabout price range
