Default Caster Angle vs. Pinion Angle with CV DRIVESHAFT

I have recently installed the TF 4" susp lift with upper/lower currie control arms and Je Reel front/rear CV style driveshafts.

In regards to the front end: I understand that i am shooting for a postive caster of 5-7 degrees. But i also understand that i should be "pointing" my pinion driveshaft output directly to the transfer case driveshaft output becuase i am using a CV style shaft.

Well, those two variables are directly correlated and adjusting to meet the needs of a proper caster angle adversely affects my needs for the driveshaft pinion angle. (and vice versa) Am i making sense? ha.

anyway, is this just something i need to play with to acheive a "happy medium"? or is there another solution?

Currently, i have my pinion output "pointing" directly towards the transfer case output. In doing so, i have created a very very low caster angle...probably less than 2 degrees. in test driving without a font driveshaft, i am getting a slight vibe or shimy as i approach 50 mph or so and my steering feels rather unstable.

So.....can i reset my caster to say 5 or 6 degrees and get away with a less than optimal pinion angle for the CV driveshaft?

thanks for taking the time to read and I look forward to everyone's feedback. i can provide pictures this afternoon if necessary.

I would suggest 3-4 degress +/- .50 of caster. My retail shop runs 4-5 degrees on 2.5"-3" lifts.

thanks.

are you running 3-4 degrees caster with CV style driveshafts?
