Castle nuts bettet than nylock nuts?
Putting my Currie steering on today and noticed they used Nylock nuts instead of castle nuts with a cotter pin. Anyone know why they would do this?
I was always under the impression a castle nut with pin will hold better than a Nylock?
Looked at the Currie Steering for the TJ and they used castle nuts..

I have been using both kinds for decades. (Automotive and aircraft)
I haven't had either type fail as long as a new cotter pin is used, or the nylock nut cannot be turned with the fingers when running it down.
I have even seen castellated nuts that have the nylon insert, too.
The important thing is to use what is called for in the drawing or instructions.
