Default caution with air intake

So I just found out if you add a high flow air intake to your jeep you need to upgrade your radiator cap too. I was running low in coolant & we figured out the 18psi cap blows off the coolant so if you get an intake get a cap.

Huh?

What does an air intake have to do with the radiator cap?

I've had an Airaid for a year and a half and never had an issue. Not sure what the connection is.

I dunno his friend has a titan that they had stuff done too & the pressure built up & was making the cap pop open & blow off steam. Thats all we could figure happened with mine I had barely any coolant & no leaks & my girls car has a cai
& has the same problem with keeping coolant so maybe it's not the solution but I can't find any other problem

Weird. There wouldn't really be additional pressure buildup in the radiator as a result of an air intake. Post if any additional info comes out.

Sounds like a blown head gasket. Had the problem on my Titan before the jeep. What does the exhaust look like in the AM when you first start it? Nice part is it was warranty work.
