Default Centering your steering wheel with Jscan

So, I recently had a new PSC Big Bore XDII steering box installed in my Jeep and the shop thought they got the drag link adjusted to get the steering wheel centered. Well as soon as I had been driving for 30 seconds I realized they got it "close" but I have OCD about certain things and a centered steering wheel is one. I found out you can actually use the Jscan app and get into the steering module to center your steering wheel EXACTLY. And all you have to do is look at your phone while you are adjusting the drag link. It was almost too easy.

Select the steering column module

Open JScan

Check the steering wheel angle

Get under your Jeep and adjust your drag link watching the phone.

Thank you for posting this! I hope more people will actually start showing these snapshots of how they're doing things cuz I have a Jscan, but admittedly haven't used it to do a lot of this stuff. This was great content today in addition to Rednroll's ABS bleed. Need someone to go through the key programming steps.

I actually need to dial my steering wheel in so I will be trying this out!

Thanks! Very useful. Jscan is pretty awesome and they just keep adding more and more awesomeness to it.

So I tried this today on my '13. I went to modules and hit Steering and it tells me "this module is not installed in your vehicle".

Weird. I have a '17 and it worked like charm. I was really hoping posting this would help a lot of people save a lot of time. I've had to re-center my steering wheel a few times and it was always a royal pain in the butt until now.

Curious if Rednroll or Sv_dude can try. I find it pretty odd as the jeep has to read the clock spring position just the same.

I’ll give it a shot at some point this week. My steering wheel hasn’t been centered in about 2000 miles. This is motivating me to center it.

Works as advertised on my '16. Nice to see all the functions they've added to this app, definitely a very useful addition to the toolbox.

It took a lot of clicking around but I figured it out finally. There were a couple extra steps for me.

1. Modules
2. Steering Column
3. Live Data
4. *3 dots at bottom*
5. Steering Wheel Angle (degrees)
6. *Green OK*
7. *Green play button*

I also ended up paying for the app to unlock everything. Not sure if that had anything to do with figuring it out, and I can't say since i got it to work after purchase.
