Default Change R&P when installing an ARB locker?

Okay. So this is a newb question, but I haven't found the answer.

I'm looking at the possibility of swapping 1 tons into my JK. Part of that is pricing it so I can budget for it. While looking at the axle options I see that many of them are 4.30 gears. I run 4.10 now and like it. SO, when taking these axles to lockers, can I reuse the 4.30 R&P with the ARB locker?

What axles are you looking at? In most cases, you can buy a arb locker for 4.10 and down and 4.56 and up.

I would only run stock gears until your budget allows. No sense in doing it twice. More importantly there's a big weight difference between those and stock axles so that's something you must account for. I assume with those axles you plan on running 37+ tires so more gear will be needed regardless. Unless you have a v8 you're better off going with a deeper gear. Check out invest's build but give some more details about what you intend to do tire size etc. so we have a better idea.

Well. That's just it. I have a 6.0 L96 with a 6L80E. The 4.10 with 35's is great. It's a good mix for me. No complaints crawling it and great as a DD. My worry is the OEM axles. If the best answer is purchase R&P with the lockers then that's what I'll do. I want to know rather than guess and throw money at not knowing.

are you planning on staying on 35's? If not what tire size are you going to end up on?

Now knowing that I can see where your coming from. Your best bet is calling arb or reputable vendor that sells them directly to find out for sure.
