Changing gears means....
Real newb question here.
When you guys change your gears, what are you actually, physically swapping out? Do you replace the pinion gear and the ring gear too? I'm trying to understand these basic concepts. Thanks

Sorry, I'm a bit new too.
Id also add inner axle seals to the list. The I ordered 5.13 Yukon gears with overhaul kits from Northridge, the overhaul kit was actually not from Yukon, I wanna say it was superior, and it did not have axle seals with it. I was in a crunch when I got mine done last week and didn't have time to wait for new seals to arrive. Shop left the old seals in and turns up the front left is leaking pretty good.
You could call Dave at Northridge4x4 and he will help you out. But to answer your question, yes. Buy your gears & master overhaul kit for the front and rear. The shop that does the install will most likely have the required different gear oil.
