Default Changing Out The Engine

So I'm planning on buying a jeep wrangler 1997-2000 and wanted to change out the engine so that it's "like new". However I don't want these years engine but a much newer year straight 6 4.0 automatic. Is it possible to go up years?

Welcome to The forum. Try your post in my other Jeep section you might have better luck with your question. If you have the 4.0 why don't you just rebuild the one you have. Mopar makes a high performance for 4.0
