i saw pictures on this forum where someone had a magnaflow installed and relocated the muffler to the "empty" area under the driver's seat.

Not talking about the muffler. This is the charcoal canister that is under the 4 door that is in a great place to get smashed.

its sitting above the frame rails

if you get onto a rock that high, i think the canister should be the least of your worries, id be worried about the driveshaft

It definately is not above the frame rails. If you play on rocks like me (JV, Rubicon, DusY) then it is a problem.

looks to be even with the bottom of the frame rail

looks like there is plenty of room to move it around to where it wont be hit, rather then fabbing a skid for it

Yes Skid Row Offroad is working on one ... When I was up there a few weekends ago we got all the measurements and a rough design worked out ... and hopefully I will be able to get back up there this weekend so we can get the prototype finished up and a test install done on my 2dr rubi… then if all goes well when we try it out on nam6869usmc’s 4dr X … So they are working on it and should be offering them for sale in the near future.

Yup, i just got an email from them a day or two ago they mentioned the engine/tranny skid was nearly complete. They didnt mention one for back there... yet, but I am waiting.

I may have to take a little roadtrip down there & stop by that place. Near Harrisburg right?

yea there in Shermans Dale, PA ... They have the engine/trans one done and many other things in the works and lots and lots of ideas for stuff they still need to work on ... thus I will be spending a bunch of time up there over the next several/numerous months, but it is all worth it to help them bring a full array of new JK armor to the market, as I know there are a lot of people wanting for and waiting for thier products.
