Default Chassis and axel painting

I'm running a second project beside my JK, and I need advise on a good way to treat a chassis, axle and leaf spring. This will be applied on a truck (a big one 22'000 lbs empty) this is a 4x4 Swedish ex.military. The chassis is in fairly good condition a little bit of surface rust in 2-3 spots, the axle have dragged over rock (I guess) so a little bit of rust here too (not that bad) and the leaf spring need a second life. I know this is not necessarily the forum to ask, but since I'm member and I always had very good advices why not!

I hear about the POR-15 rust preventing plus a paint (epoxy?) what do you think about this one or other product for though environement. This truck will not be used for rock-crawling but for raids in northern Africa (Morocco, Tunisia...)

thanks.

I've used the POR-15 quite a bit and it is really good stuff. They have a top coat that you can use over it if what you're painting is going to see UV, but I wouldn't bother on chassis, springs, and axles.
Epoxy primers are also very good but they need cleaner metal than the POR-15. I'd use the POR for this job.

if you want cheap options...try and find the paint they use for road stripes and parking lots. Heavy duty and holds up well. I've done some trailers with it here at the beach and it holds up pretty well.
