i know the biggest you can go is 33x10.5s with a stock without rub? or at least i think thats right....

i was thinking of 16x8 cragar soft 8s
and for tire it could be anything i like the toyo open country mts but im looking at paying 295 a pop for them soo..... but i do like the look of the agressive tread...

im looking at probably 80 road 20 trails!

If all you are looking for is 10.5 wide, you can go 265/75-16 on stock rims,, they are essentially 32x10.5..
If you do go to wider rims you can go 285/75-16 which are 33x11

Tirerack.com has the Kumho Road Venture AT for $106 for 265s and $130 for 285s

Discounttiredirect.com has Hankook Dynapro RW07 $110 for 265s

Why not pick up some Sahara Unlimited take-off's for around $500 and get 285x70x18 and forget new wheels. I think they are 32 by about 9.50 if I remember correctly.

My JK was definitely on a budget but it looks nice. I've got Firestone Destination MT's (the cheapest MT I could find) from roadwaytire.com they are great tires and the tread is insane. They are 33x11.50's and did rub but I have them mounted on stock 17x7.5 wheels so I got spidertrax spacers. That setup without a lift looks a little weak so I installed daystar 1.75" lift my rig looks great and performs great. I still plan on 35's and much more once its paid off though.

So far, I'm running stock wheels with spacers also. It's not a bad setup, plus it'll do until next year when I get new tires and wheels.

Another suggestion...check the for sale forum and see if you can get a set of Rubicon take offs from someone. I am sure you can get a set of five wheels/tires for less than $1000.

If you run the Craggar 16x8's they come with 5" backspacing. You can fit a 33x12.50 tire under it with no lift. Any less backspacing and you will have clearance issues with your fender flares. You will have to trim or remove the air dam up front if you wheel disconnected. I ran those wheels and 305/70 16 Pro Comp X-terrains(33x12.50) with no lift. Then I installed a set of 3/4" daystar spacers($40) to give it a small boost. Any more than 3/4" you really should address the track bars/ shocks etc. I also added some shock extensions to give me a little more down travel.

There are other MT's that are less money... but if Toyo Open Country MT's are what you want. Then get what you want the first time. Don't make the mistake many of us make of settling for something else and then beating yourself up for it later. It will just cause you greaf or more money.

No lift, 305/70 16 Pro Comp X-terrain, Craggar 16x8, No Lift.

Stuffed no lift. The backspacing is perfect where you don't get any rubbing on the front when steering and the tires stuff neatly into the fenders. even changing to a wheel with 4.5" backspacing pushes the tire out to the point where you hit the outter part of the fender flare.
