Default Check before installing FT Ultimate kit.

Hi everyone,

I installed my FT Ultimate kit this weekend and had to go back to FT twice for new parts. I caught one before starting but one caught me and cost me a day without a vehicle. The guys at FT were very helpful to me and sent parts to me overnight.

1) Make sure the heim joint ends COMPLETELY screw into the control arm. I had one that would only screw in about an inch before completely trying to re-thread itself. Also, one of my rear upper control arms went in almost all the way. I had to readjust my lowers to compensate for the last 1/8 inch.

2) Check the misalignment spacers for the track bars. The holes on mine were not large enough to accept the factory bolt. Apparently some kits were shipped with a TJ spacer (smaller bolt). It cost me another day.

Also check to make sure you will be able to get out of the garage after the lift is installed. I had about 2 inches of room but I was concerned for a while.

Thanks

You can go to 4wheelparts and find out. The MTZ are $214 each, the rims are $149 each. Multiply by 5, add some shipping (~100) and your done.

Where did you order your lift from and how long did it take you? I am almost to the point of going with a lesser lift just to get a lift. Thanks

Ordered it from Northridge. Ordered it March 5 and received it April 11. Call it 6 weeks. I don't know if I would go with a lesser lift. The quality of this kit is great. The ability to adjust everything is really nice. I haven't had a wheel alignment yet, but it rides very nice.
