Default Check Engine Light after installing lights

I just did a 2 day install of all the parts I've been gathering and all appeared fine until I started it and the check engine light is now on. I installed the Cool Tech CB antennae mount and their switch panel. Installed a Cobra 75wx CB behind the glove box. Added Mopar windshield light mounts and a pair of 6" KC 130 w long range lights, added a Pro Comp bumper mount light bar with a pair of 8" KC 130 w driving lights. Used the Mopar prefab wiring harness for the windshield mounted lights and the KC harness for the bumper mounts. Had to remove the air filter box and tube to run the wiring, put all the connectors back where they were of course . Everything works perfect except the check engine light. The only thing I did different from the Mopar instructions was they said to tie in to the high beam headlight connector but I attached that wire to the battery instead so I can use the lights no matter what setting my headlights are in. The battery WAS disconnected for a short time but I didn't loose any radio presets after rehooking it up. The compass was MIA until I started moving but all else was ok.......arghhhhhhh!! The power for the CB is coming from the aux jack next to the lighter BTW. Any clues ???

Start real simple, disconnect your battery for about 1/2 hr. and then reconnect it. This should reset your dash (and loose your presets. Just a simple idea.
