Default Choosing tire width 11.5 vs. 12.5

I'm changing my stock wheels on my Unlimited Sahara from the stock 18s to the Rugged Ridge hyper silver 17s but had a question about the tire choice.

The Mickey MTZs come in 33x11.5x17 and 33x12.5x17. I'm OK with tire sticking out of the wheel well a little but I don't want it to look ridiculously out of proportion. Anyone have pics of their 11.5s or 12.5s in profile against the wheel well?? I'll be putting the Teraflex leveling kit on for a bit more clearance.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Back in the day when you went from a 32 to a 33 that also took you from a 11.5 to a 12.5 width. The advantage of the 11.5 is that it won't rub as easily when flexing and turning so it nice to have a choice these days.

If you're going to be using them in the winter, go with the 11.5".

The narrower size will probably get better gas mileage as well.

I'll probably be going with the 11.5. I could always add wheel spacers later. The nice thing about the Rugged Ridge wheels is not have to use neccessarily the wheel spacers.

Wheels spacers on daily drivers are bad.
