Default Chrysler waranty with mods

I plan to add to my 2012 JK ,in 2 weeks
4.5 AEV lift
Black Savegre wheels
Front AEV bumper
Rear bumper and tire carrier
37 MTR KEYVLAR
Gearing 3.21 to 4.88
How it s work with Chrysler,in Canada, can my waranty gonna be void ,because I did a rookie mistake and I take the extended waranty 7 years bumper to bumper and cost a lot of $$$$$
I dont plan to do the mods at my delaer it cost me to much for the labor and I have frends who add their own reputated shop .Can my dealer decide to d ont honnor my waranty ,I heard it s at their own discretion.........
I need your input on this before a spend many thousands in AEV mods....
Thanks

It's up to the dealer, some hold their warranty, some (most I've seen) don't if you mod anything. I'd check with your dealer if you really wanna know.

That's correct, check with your dealer . Where I live they don't care what you do to it as long as it isn't connected to the problem if one happens.

I also took the extended warrenty but not until after they confirmed it would still apply even after mods. I asked them specifically about lifts and they told me it was ok. We'll see if something goes wrong

Auto Warranties are different than consumer electronics warranties when it comes to modifcations. The concept of Proximate Cause applies on the auto side where it wouldnt on the consumer electronics side.

Proximate Cause when it come to Mods refers to a changed item, touching, or part of the function of another related part.
So, if you swapped out your engine for a 6.4 Hemi, your warranty would be denied if you blew up your tranny and tried to submit a warranty claim on it.

If you put 35in tires on your jeep, the dealer could void the warranty on the axels if you developed an axel problem but they couldnt void your warranty if your tranny went.

If you lift your jeep, the dealer could void the warranty if you submit a claim on the drive shaft or other suspension parts.

The point is, Dealers and manufacturers are prohibited from completely voiding your warranty just because you changed something.

WHile this may all be the case, dealers are not coverage experts. They will offer their opinion to the manufacturer and get a response from them. The final decision may be wrong given what I have explained above. Now, you would have to get an attorney, contact State / Province Department of Insurance, Department of Consumer Affairs, Better Business Burue, and Attorney General. WHen it comes to warranty claims, unless there is blatent fraud, the warranty provider will be very eager to settle the claim and completely approve 100% coverage if they think its going to turn into a class action suit.

If you need to go in for any warranty service, ask to speak to the manager or gm of the service department, introduce yourself to him with a hundred dollar bill in your hand and you should be good.

Exactly! Most dealers will not bother you about a lift or bumpers. They will bother you if the mods you installed directly impact or are the cause of the problem.
