Clicking/knocking im driversides rear
Very commom for the driver side axle flange to bend on the stock axle. Put the rear end on blocks and remove the tire and even better the rotor. Put it in 2wd and in gear and watch the flange. If it has any movement then thats the issue. Your symptoms are exactly what mine were. Like you I noticed it right after I had been wheeling.

Not sure if you looked, or if it was suggested..but I had a similar experience with my old 2500hd.
It ended up being the dust shield right behind the rotor had a slight ding and bend to it.
And when I would apply the brakes it would stop, I'm assuming that it would flex the dust shield or stop what little defection in the rotor just enough to stop making contact.
I found it after jacking up the truck and turning the wheel by hand...good luck.
