Default Coil spacer removal

I currently have a Teraflex 2.5" BB lift with the poly spacers on top of stock coil springs. The Teraflex poly spacers in the rear have a lip on them so they won't fall out during extreme articulation. I remember they were a tight fit and somewhat difficult to get into the hole in the underbody. I now want to go to a longer coil spring setup. Does anyone have any experience trying to remove these spacers? Can they be removed easily without damaging them or do they have to be cut out? Any thoughts?
