Question Coil spring spacers

Has anyone ever had any issues with coil spring spacers, like in an off road situation? I wanted to get a full suspension lift but went with the spacers to avoid voiding the warranty of my jeep.

Only issue I had was with a specific brand. I had the Full Traction 2" Econo and I had a rear spring slide off the spacer. Others here have had similiar problems with that particular spacer lift. Not neccessarily a poor design but certianly an issue with the material used.

That said, I've been running the TeraFlex 2.5 spacers for awhile now and there are zero issues. The rear spacers are attached to the spring perches and they have spring guides built in to negate the probability of a spring sliding off.

True, you don't get the full benefit of a spring lift with the longer spring travel, etc. but if you're a mild off roader a spacer lift is a good solution without breaking the bank.

As for the warranty issue, you will not "void the warranty" by installing a lift. You would of course loose the warranty on any replaced components but a failure would have to be directly related to the modification to have an impact on your warranty. And even then, it wouldn't be "voided", the dealer simply would not repair that particular failure at their cost.

Yea thats what I was worried about becasue it looks like it wouldnt be too hard for the coil to slide out of place during articulation. Im not planning on doing any exteme off roading, but when I do go off, I would like to avoid problems. I want to upgrade to the Teraflex 2.5" eventually. When i read over the warranty, it wasnt very clear, but said that no modifications where to be made to the vehicle. But thanks for clearing that up, now i can do more of what i want to do without trying to work around the warranty. This is my first jeep, wanted one my whole life, and want to do it right.

ya, a few guys had issues with the FT rear spacers. I have a pair in my garage... and it looks like they are bulged at the bottom. As stated above the TEraflex ones use a smart design that retains the coil spring. IMO coil spring spacers are the best bang for the buck. They are cheap, they give you exact "true lift" amounts (equal to the height of the spacer) and they keep the factory spring rate so ride is close to stock. The only changes being shocks if changed and things like control arm geometry.

Have you looked at the Teraflex leveling kit? If you want to run 34" tires or smaller It is the perfect way. It levels the jeep out with a 2" spacer in the front and 1" in the rear. You also longer sway bar links. No major changes to the Jeep, the level look is great looking, and the price is only $130!!! I wish I would have had it instead of the superlift 2" BB with shocks I bought for $300.

but the superlift spacers do have groves for the top of the coil to kind of sit in. I remeber when i was on the market I noticed the Full traction spacers did look a little too simple.

According to the magnuson-moss act, they cannot "void" your warranty because you installed aftermarket parts. Now if you had a part fail that was affected by the aftermarket addition then it would not be covered. Like if you put 40" tires on your Jeep, did not regear... then your clutch goes out at 6k miles.. the clutch is not covered. But if the blower on your A/C dies they cannot say the larger tires or lift caused it. If they do say that, then they have to prove it.

That is music to my ears. I was pretty bummed out when a friend of mine told me i wouldnt be able to do anything to my jeep because it would void the warranty. But this is great news, im glad yall have cleared that up.
