Default Coilover Questions.

Hey all I've been really wanting to put a 3 inch TF coil lift on my JK and now some people are telling me to get coilovers since it would be better suited for my needs which involve going like 30-40 mph on some dirt places, would I still be able to rock crawl with coilovers?

What would I have to get in order to get the lift from a TF 3 inch lift and at the same time be able to run coilovers?

Hell yeah you can play in the rocks with coilovers, look at my albums.

There are only 2 companies that I know of the have coilover kits:
Rock Krawler, and Off Road Evolution.
There are others, but I do not recall their names, and I think they may only be coilover towers? I am not sure.
I would recommend one of the to companies above.
They do cost more, and require much more work to install... but very fun to play with.

I dont know much about the coil over kits except offroad evo seems to be the most popular and I've never heard a bad thing about the product, but teraflex just came out with that pre-runner kit for the JK's and if your looking to run high speed stuff I'd vote to look there first

Sir

You don't necessarily need to go with coil overs. A good shock and bump stop combination might do the trick as well. If coil overs fit your budget, needs, and skill set for installation, the certainly will do the trick, but not 100% necessary.

We too will be coming out with a few "Go Fast" Kits this year! Some will be out of PRO Aluminum products!

Have you seen the TeraFlex PreRunner system? Were you thinking of a long arm or a short arm setup?

Coilovers are huge expense in upgrades, however there is no easier way to customize the way your vehicle rides and handles for any given situation. I took the plunge and got a set up that allows me to do both crawling and absorb highspeed runs out here in the desert. I am still playing around with my triple bypass shocks trying to tune my ride a little bit at a time. Most of my experience with coilovers was on a few of my road race/track cars and I was never disappointed with their performance on those vehicles, the jeep is turning out to be the same kind of experience, very positive.

Yeah I have it looks amazing but I'm not sure if I can afford that. But then again looking at the coilover kits those are up there as well. I'm thinking of getting it done right at first and going with the long arm kit for the long run.
