Coilover suspension worth it?

I'm very newbie, but, why coil over can get more travel than coil and shock? I can see that you can set up a lot of stuff with the coil over... I'm asking only about the suspension travel...

I looked at the EVO setup and I consider it to be either the best or one of the best out there. I started drooling when I saw some youtube videos of WOL's rig running it. My main problem was that for 10 grand plus labor to install it, I decided not to do it. I'd never take full advantage of what that suspension could do. I took that money and fully outfitted my JKU with a lift, bumpers, winch, lights, sports cage, wheels, tires, skids, sliders, ect... for the price of the EVO coilovers. Maybe someday I'll do it, but for now, it is only a dream.

We package our products in various different ways for various needs and budgets.
The 10K price tag is what is required to convert a stock JKs suspension to a full blown coilover bypass (double throwdown) and long arm kit with all the other needed equipment like brakelines and swaybar links etc. Top of the line
To convert a current short arm/long arm kit to coilovers all 4 corners (no bypass) you are looking at around $4700 in parts.
To clarify travel information, atleast in reference to EVO Coilover kit, there are NO standard coil spring and shock systems that come even close to the usuable wheel travel of the EVO Coilover/DTD systems.

For me the cost might be a bit different. To add the double
coilovers after already having the single coilovers means
some time to take off the old brackets, from what I understand.
A few months ago I did see an EVO single system with the
brackets for the double system installed so they could later
add the double system without cutting out the old. EVO
can answer any details.
On a side note, I questioned getting 37" tires since my Jeep
would not fit in my garage. It was explained to me that the
new bracket/towers for the double throw downs slanted back
so I could get the 37"s tires and still be at or near the same
height as the current 35" tires.
