combining 2.5 and 4 in lift kit ?'s
Had a tf 2.5bb and just bought tf 4 in coils and shocks.Had a few questions. The bump stops from the 2.5 kit should work right? Also can i make use of the longer sway bar links that came with the 2.5 kit.I know i'll probably need longer links for he front?Any thoughts on the trac bars w/the 4in lift.I also know i'm pushing the limits of the drive shafts and their angles.Would like to here from anyone with any helping info, thoughts or suggestions. Thanks in advance.Any tera flex 4in pic's.
I used the bumpstop pads, perches ( the metal part that is on your front axle and on your rear) from my REBB , they were basically the same. I did use the new bumpstops ( rubber dildo lookin things ) that came with my 4in Superlift. I would think you definately need at least a new front adj trackbar. I have a bracket on the rear but am ordering a rear adj trackbar this week. I would not advise runnig that much lift with no new track bars or brackets if that is what your getting at. Your jeep would not be happy and handling would be horrible.
i say call up RCX and ask them to sell you a frame mounted front trac bar drop bracket along with a dropped pitman arm, use that in combination with an adjustable front tracbar.. in the rear buy the frame mounted drop bracket from teraflex and also run it with an adjustable track bar. as far as sway bar links... keep your stock links, measure how much longer they would need to be to make the swaybar arms sit just above level,, ,bring it to a welding shop and have them extend them to that length. make sure to get all new extended SS brake lines. And you will need new drivshafts. if its a four door, you can barrow time on the rear, but kiss the front goodbye, i'm running a four inch lift with 3/4" spacers up front and anything more would kill that thing. Its really got an angle on it as it is. Also keep in mind most lifts compensate for the rake.. having two lifts that compensate for the rake make leave your front sitting rather high... either add a real heavy winch and bumper, or add a 3/4" poly spacer to the rear if its possible... while shocks made for that much lift would be better... running the four inch shocks with the 2.5" extenders would work too. if its big tires you're looking to fit.. run the 4" lift with a 2" body lift to avoid a lot of expense... Oh yeah, i think you said 4" coils.. not 4" lift.. well kiss those stock control arms goodbye... you'll need uppers and lowers all around adjustable at that much lift to get it to handle right. Good luck, it would be totally awesome, but that kinda of suspension lift means not cutting corners. plus that much lift will fit a big ass tire... big ass tire means big ass money... so i hope you've got some laying around... again, 4" lift and 2" body lift will save you some cash on driveshafts and control arms... good luck and please keep us posted
