looks to be a 50/50 opinion. It does not go offroad at all, and I like to keep it clean- the running boards, as well as the bumpers are such a bitch to keep looking nice, and it ends making the entire jeep look dirty.
good point about keeping the car doors off the paint in parking lots with them on... I think I will put back on and figure out a good way to keep them clean. Thanks for the input

If it was mine, I would :
- keep the lift as is. Test it out offroad.
- loose the running boards in lieu of rock rails. Test them out offroad (sell them boards for beer money, go have a party offroad)
- oh, and go offroad

Sahara owner chiming in: Leave em on (or replace them with something similar) - without them, your painted fenders are in for a world of hurt. Even WITH them on, if you run some hard trails, you're going to pick up some trail badges (aka battle scars) on your painted fenders... I know that mine didn't stop all the mud and crud from flying up and hitting the fenders - only MOST of it.
I agree with someone who posted above, suggesting that you switch em off to rock rails (stock from a Rubi, or aftermarket). But, if you value your fenders' paint job, you'll want to keep SOMETHING there.
