I didn't look at this thread yesterday. I pulled it up this morning.
I didn't intend to open a can of worms. I do appreciate all of the responses. This is a fantastic place to find out information about all of the "stuff" that can be done and how to fix things things that I have done to my JK. Thanks to EVERYONE!

That was pretty fun wasn't it, no hard feelings here. Something that Rock Krawler said reminds me that not all 4" lifts will give you that. They will range from 4" to over 5". So if you are wanting to run 35's and net 4" of lift you will probably need to look at kits in the 3-4 range depending on the manufacturer.
Good luck with you're build.

With 4” of lift the track bar and drag link angle will become steep and effect your steering. A track bar relocation bracket, adjustable track bar and a drop pitman arm will get them back to stock like handling. I not sure but I think a Draglink flip kit or a High steer kit with the combination of an adjustable track bar will do the same thing. Just make sure that you reinforce the stock track bar bracket on the axle side with some gussets or aftermarket bracket.
Disappointing.
Rcjeep says that RC joints are superior to Cirrie Jonny Joints, that their poly bushings are superior to clevite rubber bushings, that the stength and quality of materials are the same & that the only reason for the difference in price is that they cut out the middle man & don't sponsor events; vendor shows, etc.
I would have hoped he would know what happens to the clearance between the rear passenger spring & the trackbar when you lift a 2 dr more than 3".
I would hope that he would know what happens to the clearance between the stock front driveshaft boot clearance with the transmission pan when you lift an automatic transmission JK more than 2.5".
I would hope that he would know the amount of extended front & rear bumpstops necessary to run 35s with stock flares regardless of spring height.
I could go on.
I don't know how any company can defend the decison to sell a 6" short arm TJ lift or 6" JK fixed short arm lift.
Yeah. I get tired of reading threads about sagging RC springs, guys who can't figure out why their 35s rub on their RC lift that has no extended bumpstops, or RC kit owners whose front trackbar bracker welds have failed, or lugcentric wheel spacer owners who have wobble problems, or RC 4" lift with fixed arms who took them all off to run adjustable arms, or 6 speed owners who were told a 1.25" body lift would work just fine, or 2 dr owners who can't figure out why their ride is so riough with the 2.2 shocks, etc.
Even if rcjeep doesn't know this stuff, RC does.
I know they are an advertising vendor here, & I know if their stuff is properly supplemented it can be a good deal.
For the guys who think all my observations are crap, just wait, time will tell. I have nothing to gain or lose from this discussion.
Again, if it sounds too good to be true, it is, and, you get what you pay for, and, a good salesman will tell you both the pluses & minuses of his products.

You like to twist words... I never said that our Joints are better than Currie. I never said Poly is superior to Rubber. And I never said that ONLY reason our pricing is lower is due to "cut out the middle man & don't sponsor events; vendor shows, etc".
I agree with you some of these items and are working to continually improve our products and improve the training we provide to the people in our organization that interact with customers. If we have a customer that has an issue with the products they have received from us we want them to call us and we will work together towards a solution.
Additionally, we recognize that our products are not always perfect and that communications and interpretations often lead to confusion and problems that can be resolved. We also recognize that one configuration of a lift may work, but may not be the best fit given an individuals needs. Currently we are working to provide more options and more configurable kits especially in the Jeep market and appreciate feedback and suggestions.
