Default Computer Flash

I stopped by a Jeep dealer and ask the service department about flashing the computer for the ESP fix. They told me between 40 And 70 bucks. Was this a recall? If so should it be free? Just asking

There is a TSB for a reflash. if they didn't send you a notice, log in to the jeep website with you vin and check it out. You can also look at a list of TSB's in the TSB sticky in Stock Tech

The reflash I got for the trans temp warning included the ESP turn-off thing. It was a recall, which was free, not a TSB, which may not be free.

If its a recall flash it should be free. Also ask them to run your vin for any recalls and ask to see the list, if it's a 07 there should be a flash upgrade for free.

past that, it's not a bad idea to get the most up to date flash anyway, as the newer flashes have better air fuel mixture ratio settings. (at least I beleive so)

from there get a superchip or Hypertech programmer. Worth it in my book. just for tire size, fan on temp, axle ratio, and of course the 87 octane, 91 octane settings.
