Default Control arm pre-load

Well, I got some of Rusty's adj. lower front control arms and hope to install them along with the OME HD lift kit from NR. I plan to set the starting length at 23" center of eye to eye. But, I need to know how to set the preload, I believe is the term on the Flex joint.

You don't set any pre-load. You bolt in the new arms and torque to spec with the full weight of the vehicle ON THE GROUND.

Understand that part! But, the flex joints came with a set screw, that is not installed. Do I just turn to the first notch in the flex joint and install it?

Oh! You know, I never adjusted that part. I just put them right in from Rusty's as is. I didn't realize you could adjust those for pre-load. So now I'm curious as well.

Does anyone know the preload or do you tighten them up a it, and then set the set screw?

I just had the Rusty's installed today. Neither i nor the mechanics knew how it should be set. We just put the set screw in as it came from Rusty's. It was already lined up with an indent. Would really like to know the real answer.

Really, no one thought to actually break down, pick up the phone, and call Rusty? They always answered the phone anytime I had a question.

When we were installing they were not open. Different time zone. I tried to contact but no answer.
