Default Coolant Hose Diameter vs Sensor Gauge Adapter

I'm cutting the upper radiator hose of a Wrangler JK 2015 to install a sensor gauge adapter.

This is the sensor gauge adapter I plan to buy.

My goal is to fit the temp sensor of this guy :

QUESTION

Inside hose diameter is 1.460" (or 37.084 mm) according to specs. But those infamous sensor gauge adapters come only in size 36 mm or 38 mm.

Which size should I choose to fit that upper radiator hose? I tend to go with 36 mm, add Teflon tape and tighten the clamps like crazy afterwards.

PS: I don't want to install a T-Fitting to double my stock sensor location because I want a reading from the upper hose (precisely).
