Cooper dicoverer stt
Was wondering if this was a good price/good tire for a daily driver,ex.tread life. Local shop is offering the 285/70/17 for just under 1400 dollars for 5 and this includes mount and balance(lifetime) and swapping over tpms sensors to my new wheels. I don't know anyone running these but I'm pretty sure they're good off-road just looking for on road performance review.

These are my second set i have had on Jeeps, Great Tire. Quite, and they last for a M/T. They do get noisier as they wear, but not bad. I think I had over 40,000 on my first set and they had plenty of life left.
Second set on my JKU...first set with 5 tire rotation lasted me close to 99K km's (65k miles). No flats, no sidewall punctures, no chunking of lugs and are great in mud, snow & rocks and good in the rain and overall a quiet M/T on pavement. The STT's have a very similar tread to the Toyo M/T but are cheaper & lighter tire. The only downfalls of the STT's: is it seemed 1 out of 5 tires needed a pile of weight to balance, they suck on ice (like any hard compound M/T) and you do have to stay on top of them for tire rotation or you will get uneven wear. I usually rotated every 7500km (5k miles).
I will get a 3rd set for sure once my 35's wear out.

I ran a set for a while, they are a very good all around tire. The only negative I found was they didn't hold up well to the type of rocks I wheel on. I normally go to Superlift park in Arkansas and the rocks there were very hard on the STTs.
