AWESOME PICS
Sorry It took so long to say that

I'll tell you right now... The STT's are holding a strong tie for the lead.
I still love the KM2's though.

I still have plenty of time to drool over the choices. - It's a love / hate thing!

Not to high jack this but now that we have decided the sst's are good

What do yall think of the toyo open country mt's I like those tires alot too and they look very similar to the sst's.

Are they more expensive or do you think the sst's would still be the better choice, I am mainly a dd with occasional off road and am wanting a nice set of 35's for my stock rims. I like that wide look.

The STT's are a decent tire for some parts of the country. If you're not in rocky terrain and if sidewalls aren't an issue they may work. But I've cut the sidewalls of two of the four on my work truck and I don't take the work truck in near as bad places as I do the JK. The JK wears KM2's. The KM2 is a much superior tire. Personally I'd pay for a set of KM2's before I'd run a free set of STT in Colorado or Utah.

For a fire road, mud, rain snow tire that is quiet the STT is good. I've owned three sets of them.

See Chuck... This is why I love the decision making process.

It seems that all owners of a particular brand /style tire love them.
I often wonder if it is merely to solidify thier purchase decision.
Until I hear from someone llike you, who has owned both and is able
to compare the two.

All major tire manufacturers make good tires. Most M/T's
will perform well in the mud. A/T tires great in dirt and sand, ect...

I've owned BFG's all my life and I've always had good luck w/ 'em.
The size options of the Toyo's and Coopers and the fact that they are
siped is what has drawn me to them. But I guess the KM2 is a siped
Krawler.
I want a quiet mud tire that good on wet roads.

Toyo's are on avg, $50 per tire higher. And I am not real crazy about the
STT sidewall. I wish BFG had a 305/70-17.

Maybe I should quit belly-achin' and get 35's.

Quit belly-achen and get the 35's. JK demand 35's. I haven't had the KM2's in a lot of rain but did get in a real gully washer of a monsoon on the way back from the Ouray / Lake City are and they did fine. You have reason to be "not crazy" about the STT'ss sidewall; it is the tires weak point. I've got a new work truck (Ford F250 crew cab 4x4 diesel) coming next month. In the past I've immediately put STT's on new trucks. This time I'm going to try to wangle a set of KM2's.

But you're also right, most new tires from reputable companies are pretty decent; it's hard to make a really bad choice. But right now there is a clear winner out there. Get the 35's; you won't regret it - except for lusting after 37's!
