Question Correct backspacing for 12.5" tires ?

I got the Teraflex BBL 2.5" and 35" X 12.5" X 17" tires. I ran last summer on stock rims with 1.25" spacer and had minimal rubbing (didn't feel any, but the direction links are very shiny...)

I stripped all studs on my spacers due to winter wheel that had no room for the nut's heads (I didn't notice... feel like the nut myself...) Anyway, now I want to get me steel aftermarket wheels, the least expensive since they will rub on rocks , but I am not sur of the proper back spacing (4", 4.5" or 5") ?? I don't want to go further outside of the fender than required since cops may not like it, and its my daily driver too...

Any advice ?

I am running a 4.6" BS rim with 33x12.50 Cooper STT's and they stick out about 1/2" outside the stock fenders.

4.5" is pretty much where you want to be.

I have 35x12.5x17r waiting until monday for the lift install. I got them with a 4.5" backspacing to work with the lift & no rubbing. It's what I was told. I'll have a def. answer for you probably in 1 week. That's when I should have everything on. But like wayalife said. 4.5" is where you need
