Default Cost difference between 33s & 35s (Minimal requirements?)

Tried the search and came up empty...maybe I missed it. But I've been reading around and I am tired of looking through 500 plus pages of threads to find an answer.

I'm looking at tires 33-35inchs on stock 17s....I know I know, its been beaten to death.

My question is how much MORE do 35's cost when compared to 33's. I want to know the minimum needed to get 33's on and then how much more it would be to put 35's on....once again minimum amount of work needed.

If I'm not mistaken, 33's can be put on stock JEEPs with nothing else required???

35's however require much more I believe. Regearing, lift, fender chop, control arms or whatever required??? What are the minimum requirements for 35s.

I currently have 3.73 gears, stock 17 inch MOABs and an Automatic.

Thanks guys and I hope this isn't too annoying.

33 will go on with wheel spacers.
35 needs a lift the cost is up to you.. you can get 2" budget lifts varly cheap.
But once again useing stock wheels you need the wheel spacers.
As far as price that depends on the brand you buy.
And yes you would need to regear anything smaller than a 3" you can keep your driveshafts.

Hope this helps

It does....but I'm not looking for exact numbers, a ballpark maybe. I forgot about the spacers but yes I would get some.

For 35s all you need is to get a lift? Really? I plan on doing a 2.5inch lift at least. What about suspension and axels or whatever else. I also assume speedo calibration is needed. Also I don't plan on extensive off-roading just some light to moderate trails and a meaner looking JEEP. Sorry I'm new to the mechanics of vehicles.

And since I have 3.73, are you saying I WILL have to regear or since I'm larger than 3 I'm fine?

Thanks

With a 2.5 inch bb, you should be fine with 35s,IMHO if you get 33s you will want 35s after a week or 2.

yes a 2.5 will put you where you need to be for 35s. Axels are fine except you will notice lack of power til you regear. You said light trails I would regear to at least 5:13. You can regear down the line. suspension will be taken care of by the lift you buy depends on which one you buy. Id think of the 2.5 Teraflex with shocks just my opinion.

I agree and want to avoid this. But like many I'm on a budget. I don't want to keep dumping money into the JEEP after I get what I want done.

If I ordered a lift, 35s, and spacers.....I would be set correct? I want to keep this as close to the stock ride as possible without spending a fortune. So I guess that means I would need a speedo recalibrator.

ANYTHING ELSE?

I'm not considering the tire carrier, or other items like that.

Nothing suspension wise, long arm, short arm control arm any other arm.....I don't even know what those do. Brake line extensions? Stronger axels? Regearing? I've only read about people changes these things on the board. I know nothing about them or what the do or if I even need them. Sorry for the extreme noobness

not to hi jack this thread but im wondering what the gas milage diff would be running 33's compared to 35's... i know it depends on tire weight and have found some 33's thats weight is = to some 35's.... i want 35's and have 3.73 gears and do not plan on regearing for awhile but like stated above i dont wanna get 33's just to be wanting 35s right away...

ive found in my neck of the woods (local dealers) it would cost me on avg 200-300 more for 4 35s so its best to get it right the first time

example $1850 canadian for me to get 4 33/12.5/17 nitto mud grapplers and for 35s he said he could get me out the door for $2000.... buy the way that dont include rims...u get raped up here

I am looking at the inexpensive teraflex lift kits....most likely with shock after what I've read on here.
