Default Couple Questions?

After replacing my ball joints a couple months ago I started to leak diff fluid from my drivers side axle tube. I am going to replace my inner axle seals probably next week and install sleeve and gussets for the 35's soon to come while I have everything apart.

1) I am thinking going with EVO or should I go with something else?

2) What have yall used to press the seals in and out with?

3) When putting the axle shafts back in some have said to twist it and some say to just put it in slow and carefully; whats the difference and whats the point of twisting?

4) Also I just want to DOUBLE CHECK and make sure the inner seals I order are the correct ones. Can someone post the correct part number for me so I can be sure. Its an 07 X (obviously with the D30 up front)

Thanks for all the help guys, wanna get this all done so I can hit the trails without sorrying as much.

1) All depends on your preference. Evo makes some awesome products, but there are cheaper alternatives such as alloy USA.

2) Usually use a large socket to press in the new seal with a rubber mallet. Forgive me, I forgot the size but its like 1" and something. Best way to do it is to take one of the seals to the local parts store and match it up with a socket. Once you have the socket, place the seal in the axle housing and lightly tap it in using the socket as a press and a rubber or plastic dead blow hammer.

3) When you reinstall the shafts, put them in carefully not to bang up the spider gears in the pumpkin. You want to twist the shaft after it is back in to insure the splines match the spider gears and they spin freely. If they are not matched up correctly, when you drive, you will strip the splines on the axle shafts and mess up the spider gears.

4) I have an 07, but have never replaced my seals yet. Can't help with a part number, sorry!

Hope this was helpful! Good luck!

Thanks for the advice GreenJK07.

I would still like to get a part number from someone out there and some more input on the above questions.
