Default "cowling" replacement?

Does anyone know of any heavy duty "cowling?" (The piece of sheet metal between the window and hood) I am tired of replacing due to hail. My TMD hood held up fine, but I think a well aimed bird crap would dent the cowling piece. I'm not terribly fond of the "diamond plate" Warrior panels. Any other options?

Thanks!

Saw these on a JK... not sure who makes them or what material, but they're not diamond plate. It's only the end pieces but maybe they make a piece for the whole strip?

You could also remove your cowl and bedline or plasti-dip it. I would guess a rubber coating would help fend off the hail.

i don't think plasti-dip would help at all as it it just a thin coating of vinyl type material. bed coating would if you go with the thicker high heat applied coatings like line-x. the bed coatings you can do yourself in a spray can from homedepot like the rustoleum would give little bit of protection, but is also not as thick and strong as line-x or rhino. I have used both the rattle-can stuff on my front grille (rustoleum) and have had trucks treated with line-x. there is a big difference. I think for true protection against hail smashing against your cowl the line-x stuff would be more appropriate. If you can manage to remove the cowl yourself and do some of the prep work I'm guessing it wouldnt be to much to get it sprayed.

I PLASTI-DIPPED mine all the way across. Just had a hail storm last week and it held up! I thought for sure I'd have dimples, but nope. Now I just need a hood and PLASTI-DIP it. LOL

I didn't take it off. Just masked the surrounding areas and sprayed. I sprayed in my garage, so there wasn't any overspray.

I'd suggest taking the cowl off. The wipers are only two easy to reach bolts just lift the plastic cover at the base of the wiper to reach. Then remove the 4 plastic body retainer push trees an 4 screws to remove the center section. The outer parts of the cowl are easy to tape off and paint. Did mine two years ago with rattle can liner and has held up great.
