Is this triangle crack normal ...my guess is no, but could use some advice on if this will be ok or needs replacement.Click image for larger version

That is definitively not normal. You should consider a new adjusting sleeve.
Not sure for how much it goes at the dealer but you could get Raybestos 425-1065
http://catalogs.raybestoschassis.com...5&catalog=1000

It goes for $34.24 @ Amazon

And make sure to correctly adjust your toe in

It's hard to tell from the pics but it looks like a manufacturing defect to me. I'd take it back to the dealer and see if it's covered under warranty. Or you could install an upgraded aftermarket tie rod like Synergy or RK.

Thanks for the info...So I guess the question now is better to go with a "HD" tie rod replacement or get the new sleeve and not worry about it?

What about this for a replacement? Would I still need the Sleeve?

Instead of replacing the tie rod ends if that is what you are planning on doing I am of the opinion you are better of getting the synergy Tie rod.

If you have stock rims you might need spacers.

I guess we will need some feedback, I'm sure the synergy tie rod is great, I have their ball joints and drag link but not so sure about the tie rod. Does anyone have any feedback on how this takes some rock beating? I'm just saying this is the lowest part of the jeep so it will be hit hard.

Yeah yeah I know maybe that's why it's HD but won't hurt to have some feedback

X10 love the Synergy tie rod. Also rumored RK is soon to drop a new adjustable tie rod with their own ends.

We run the Synergy tie rod and bounce off of rocks with it on a regular. The powder coating chips off of it but its not that big of a deal. The tie rod itself is extremely strong and we can give you a good deal on one. Pm us for pricing.
