Default cragar wheels

i have an 08 jk sahara and i just bought some 32 bfg MT from a friend (stock rubi tires). they wont fit on the stock 18 inch sahara wheels, so i was gonna order the 17" cragar soft 8s. but i dont know what size. 17x8 or 17x9, and backspacing? dont know about any of that. anyone know?

There is a sticky regarding wheels and tires and backspacing in the modified section (top of all the posts). There is too much stuff to remember and I might tell you something wrong. So use it as a starting point.

Make sure you think it over before your purchase, because then if you go bigger in the future, then you will have all the options covered.

well ok. i've been researching this for the last couple of days and i have yet to find any definite answers. I have LT255/75R17 111/108Q thats the 32 bfgs. can someone please help me out here? would it be better to get the 17x8 or 17x9, assuming i will never go bigger than 33 inch tires? the 17x8s have 4.5 backspacing, the 17x9s have 5", would like to stay away from spacers if possible, so which do i get?

Either will work. The 255/75R17 is a stock size tire for the JK (either upgraded alloy wheels or rubicon). The stock wheels have 6.5" backspacing.

I would go with the 17x8 with 4.5 backspace. The ability to air down lower plus a little more clearance for 285/70R17 (true 33" tires).

I've been running the 17x8s with stock rubber without any rubbing/issues and recommend going with them. I plan on going to 285/70/17 (33x11.5) in the near future also and those wheels will accomidate.

The 17x8 will be perfect for you.
