Default Crunch time on lift decision

My TF BB is no longer cutting it. I added a Rugged Ridge XHD w/ ends, hoop, and a Warn M8000. I bet I don't have half of an inch between my bumpstops and the axle pads.

So I have come down to the choice between the OME HD and the TF 2.5 coil kit with Bilstein 5150's. I have TF LCA's and a JKS front trac bar waiting to be installed, but need to get a little more room between the bupstops and axle pads before I bother with installing them. My reading on this site has me pointed in the direction of the OME kit, but if I get the TF kit, I will be able to offer my BB to someone else as a complete kit.

The prices on the two kits are nearly identical and I am driving myself nuts trying to decide. Can anyone make an argument for or against either kit that puts me over the edge? I give up!

Thanks in advance!

Tom

Default same boat

Right now I am leaning towards the Ome but also looking at the RC 3 and 1/2 check out the thread thoughts on the 3.5 rc What are you going to add to the OME?
I had OME heavy duty springs on an 99 landcruiser that was running 35's ARB bull bar and 10k warn winch and it worked very well

Don't mean to throw a monkey wrench in, but have you considered Rock Krawler at all? I just went from a R/C BB to a Rock Krawler 2.5 mod suspension kit w/bilstein's and am extremely happy with it. All for under 7 Franklins!

Well I insalled the 4dr TF coil 2.5 lift yesterday on my 2dr and I absolutely love it! Got 3.5 in the front and 3 in the rear of actual lift. Rides much better than stock but Im running shock adapters for now. I live down a pretty rough dirt road that gets graded about 2 times a year and it smoothed the ride home out alot! No bad tendencies whatsoever.

Tombo, did TF springs sag a lot after you installed heavy bumper and winch? I am shoping for the right lift myself, and was considering TF 2/5" lift with shocks, but afraid after I put front bumper and winch the springs will sag substantially (I actually had similar experience on my Tacoma with OME springs).
Also, what do you mean TF coil kit? I though TF has only three different ways of BB lift? How much is the coil lift?

I went with the OME HD lift kit with the Nitro charger shocks, JKS F/R track bars, Randy's flca's, 2" bumps f/r, rear adj. end links, and will put on Lowes rear brake ext. till I get some Crown lines. Only bad thing is, it is sitting in my shed till next weekend.

Post 2.5 TF coil lift

HI, I have done a lot of research in lift kits and I think the 2.5" TF coil over is 'the' lift people are very happy with. It seems to keep the stock characteristics without going overboard.

I have a 3.5" Rubicon Express on my TJ what in principle is a quality lift however I am already on my third set of bushings, indeed not good, fingers crossed I don't get the same with my TF lift

So I have ordered the 2.5" TF coil over lift with Elka shocks (had to have them, indeed my budget out of the window, but again life only once). Although you don't have to change your control arms if you go for the 2.5" lift, many people recommend it so I bought also the a full set of control arms. I think if you don't want to spent this kind of money the recommendation is to only change your lower control arms (to space our your axle)

My two cents, hope it helps.
