Currie Cyclic Steering
I purchased the Currie Cyclic Steering kit and I am having an issue. The rubber seals on the joints were not assemble correctly so the boot lips were not under the spiral circlip so they won't hold grease let alone keep contaminants out. I fixed two of the boots on the tie rod and just my luck the boot on the joint at the pitman arm to drag link is leaking due to the same issue. This is going to be tought to fix without tearing it all back apart. This sucks!
Has anyone else had issues with these johny-joint seals?

I was told by Currie this is normal and that it is designed so that the grease has somewhere to escape.
If it was fully sealed then there would not even need to be grease zerks on them. Where would all that grease go over time when you grease it every oil change?

There is no way in hell that you want that much exposure for contamination to enter the joint. While it is true that automotive joint seals must allow grease to slowly escape you don't want to be greasing these every few days. Typically every oil change would be normal. It seems that these could be a flawed design.
They have got to be kidding
