Im so glad i search and found this thread. A friend of mine that has been rock crawlin for 20 years was thinking of building long arms with a Jonny joint type or RE. For my jeep. He said that the joint is far better than the Heim joint. So i was searching and found Currie with the jonny joint now im going to check out Clayton.
This is funny because i met Clayton at the King of the hammers qual at rouch creek 2 weeks ago ( he came in second awsome race) and he talked to me about his suspention and i told him that i wasnt sure wich way i was going to go lol
Well it looks like Clayton or currie for me

The pictures don't do it justice( i'm sure the same holds true for Terra) The bracket is HUGE.. I think it weighs 15lbs. It hugs the rear axle and beefy as hell.. Terraflex makes a great kit but I think the clayton and currie are a step up especially with the rebuildable( replaceable) johhny joints. Unfortunately they don't make a long arm kit and i'll be looking at Terraflex when I decide to step up to a long arm. I asked Adam at clayton about doing a long arm and he felt that its really not worth it since the short arms are long to begin with. I have no regrets going with Clayton for my 4.5" lift. When I wheel I don't even consider anything breaking from it. I usually just pray that the driveshafts and the dana 30 hold up. haha. Ohh and the 4.5" sits high. When I first had it installed it seemed more like 5.5-6" of lift. Although im not running any heavy aftermarket bumpers.

Adam Clayton is great on the phone and knows his stuff. Strangly neither he nor John Currie feel the Long Arm is necessary on the JK as it was on the TJ. At EJS Currie mentioned that they would probably bring one out a long arm kit; but merely due to customer demand and not because it would provide a major benefit.

The concept of a long arm kit has some appeal to me but there isn't one out there right now that I feel is worth spending the money on. The TF has long lower arms but the upper arms are much shorter and I question the effects this suspension geometry will have on performance. I don't trust FT as far as I can throw them up hill and I think the RE radius arm system may impose some limitations. I don't know much about the RK LA system. I assume it probably does pretty good offroad but wonder how it does on the road. I also worry about their rear suspension as vehicles I've been behind with a similar rear setup had a tendancy to lift the fort end when powering during a climb. At this point in time I'm taking a wait and see attitude and will let the market mature a bit before I spend any dollars on a LA. Right now I think MY money would be better spent on a Hemi.

This is not one of those "because I have them" post. I don't have their lift. Wish I did, but I do have all 8 o fCurries control arms and will vouch for their quality. They are awesome. If the rest of their lift kit is as well made, then that's what I would want. No comment on Clatons. I'm sure they're good too.

It is looking like Currie or CLayton for me too. I was looking at buying it from David at Northridge 4x4. Does anyone have pictures of either of these lifts installed? If you do, maybe you could also post which lift options you have. Thanks for all of the great info.

Default Rubicon Express

I have not heard any comments about the Rubicon Express 3.5" Super-Flex

I have heard a lot of good comments about this system too. Personally I'm still not sure Rubicon Express or Clayton

This is the biggest rock I can find in South Jersey..
That looks awesome, did you change your driveshafts? Also, are there any major differences between Currie and Clayton?

That is exactly the look I want, 35" tires with tons of room to articulate
