Default Custom Faux Beadlocks

I love the look of beadlocks but can't have real ones because they aren't street legal, and I plan on getting Staun internal beadlocks anyway.
So my idea is to get rings i can weld on such as these rockstomper.com/catalog/wheels/beadlocks.htm with just using my rim as it was intended for the tire and bolting the rings together to get the look and strengthen and protect the steel wheel, so when I damage the ring on rocks I can repaint or replace.

these are the wheels i have

I want to paint the wheels Rescue Green and the rings black texture powdercoat (I can powdercoat my self, so when i jack the rings up I can fix them)

Any opinions, thoughts or concerns with this idea?

P.S. I am using Rock Stomper as an example only I will probably have my rings fabricated by someone in my area.

I think you are re-inventing the wheel for reasons of rumor and not fact. Find the NV law that states beadlocks or multi-piece wheels are illegal. I have searched NM, UT, and Federal law for a total of 4-6 hours and found ZERO laws about such wheels. Maybe your right about NV law, and maybe you are welding fake rings onto wheels (thus voiding the wheel DOT stamp anyway) just to exercise your welding skills.

the main point of having the the fake ring is the look (we all want our Jeeps to look B A ), but it will also strengthen the wheel and most likely the ring is the part that will scrape the rocks so it will protect the paint on the wheel and I'll just have to refinish the ring which I can do for little cost. and for function I plan on getting Staun internal beadlocks so both the inner and outter beads will be locked and not just the outter bead as with most beadlock wheels.

There are some DOT approved beadlocks out there that you can use (AEV / Hutchinson). For the price of the Staun and adding a beadlock for looks you could have the hutchinsons

If you really want faux, they sell a "snap on" version too: Its much lighter and you can probably tack weld it on the inside.

This is how a "real" Allied beadlock looks using your wheel:

I wouldn't be welding anything to my wheels! Do you realize how nearly impossible that will make it to balance?

the police for the most part won't care what wheels you have; I'm a cop and I wouldn't
Chaddlane, as a cop, do you know of any law in NV that requires "DOT approved wheels", or prohibits beadlocks or multi-piece wheels? I appreciate your candor as a fellow wheeler from refraining from enforcing every innate vehicle specification, but is there actually a law written in NV about such wheels? Thanks.
