Default customizing the stock drive shafts

i am thinking of buying the front and rear 1350 yokes for the transfer case from Tom Woods get the stock drive shafts cut at each end get 1350 yokes welded rebalanced and fit. Just checked the stock driveshafts are pretty strong as steel tubes the only week link is the CV style at each end...

The stock drive shafts are an alloy metal which makes them harder to weld to. you are better off buying new drive lines and saving your self money in the long run.

What is the diameter and wall thickness of the stock shafts, as well as the JEReel shafts? One local place had a 2.25" .25 wall tube, while another was recommending the 3" .083 wall. What is a good combination?

The aftermarket driveshafts still make contact with tranny skids. Even after I had trimmed it.

Mine didn't. Grind it more. I got the stock shaft to clear that skid. But, then it allowed my shaft to take out the tranny pan.

Remember yours is 4dr, mine is 2dr. If I grind it anymore I will comprimise the integrity of the skid to do its job. A buddy and I are thinking of fabing up a tranny skid that won't interfer with my front driveshaft. Lets see.

If it's the front driveshaft. We have the exact same configuration 2 and 4 door. You can cut up the skid a lot. I'll take a picture of mine tommorow if you would like.
