Default D ring on factory bumper

I have the factory x bumper. So I don't have the front hook. I was wondering if I could used d rings on the front with the plastic on. Anyone do this or think it could be done.

find yourself a fab shop to make you some custom d-ring mounts. Have them set it up like the PJ mounts, except with a significantly longer tab so you can cut two slots in the plastic skin and have the tabs protrude from the plastic atleast an 1.5". It'll take a little bit of effort but it can be done.

Just remove the plastic bumper cover. Remove the 4 bolts per hook and replace with shackles mounts. Think I saw someone selling a set of shackle mounts for shipping only.

Missed the part about the plastic staying on.
