I bought a reciever hook not a shackle from Quadratec and I think they charged me like $30. Well, I was in my local Harbor Frieght and they had the same exact one for $9.99.

It is nice to have.

Ive posted some more phots at the pics site along with some info.
I'm not a teacher etc. and don't even spell well so People will have to figure stuff out like I did I guess. But there should be enough there to get anyone going that wants to do the same or similar. You could print the photos and have some metal worker do the work for you even I suppose. Anyway here's the pics:

Hi all,

I've got a question for all of you: I've been thinking about getting one of these for the rear since there is no stock recovery point if you get the tow option, but every manufacturer of these receiver hitch shackles that I see specifies they are for a Class III receiver. I know it will fit, but is it a good idea to use it on a Class II receiver (which comes stock with the JK tow pkg)? I just want to be sure it's safe and mechanically sound to do so.

buy the cheapest one you can at a trailer discount shop or harbor freight...I bought the viking one from northridge and it came as the same cheap unpainted generic one every body else sales for half price.

don't worry about it..I have been tugged out from the snow , mud and pulled backward up a hill by the stock hitch...no worries...and I mean I was YANKED out...you will snap a recovery strap before you break anything...this comes from experience..lol

Definitely grab a cheaper one, they usually carry the whole assembly at any auto parts store. I got my setup for $30 at Pep Boys and spray painted it flat black with a red pin to match my bumper and shocks. Plus, I got a 7/8 ring instead of the smaller 3/4, much beefier. Just my two cents.
