Default D-ring mounts on stock bumpers

I'm thinking about making my stock front bumper a stubby with the new conversion kit from VDP. Has anyone seen a d-ring mount that can be easily mounted to the stock bumpers?

I am sure you mount it in place of the tow hooks it could work. The problem is that once you take off the plastic most of the metal frame underneath is thin metal (1/8" if I recall).

I can highly recommend the Teraflex D-Ring mounts / shackles when you do replace the tow hook. These are very well made and robust. The welds are very clean, too.

It's thinner than 1/8"! This is picture of the little bracket I made out of a piece of OEM bumper I used to hang my CB from my footman's loop.
