Default D ring question

Hi everyone just wondering for D rings what is a good thickness or what should I be looking for to know I have a strong D ring? Does anyone know how much I can pull in weight with the ones I have? I'm about to paint them.

Stamped on them it reads:

WLL 43/4T CE 3/4

Does that mean 3/4" and 4 ton???

Thanks

Working Load Limit 4¾ Tons, Size ¾"
The CE stands for "Conformité Européenne", which means it meets certain requirements to be sold in the European Economic Area.
You have to be careful, though. Some are cheaply made, and rated/labeled fraudulently.

If it doesn't say made in the USA, Canada, Holland, France, Italy, or Japan stay away from them. I've see Chinese shackles fail at half the stated rating

Very true. We do a lot of rigging mostly over people and anything that says Made in China gets cut up with a grinder then pitched. If you want guaranteed quality get Chicago shackles.

Crosby shackles are 4 to 1 breaking strength. I have a endless strap that is rated for 22,000 and it has a breaking strength of 5 to 1 which is around 100,000. I can break someones frame with it
