Default D-ring security

I've seen a lot of aside comments about this but I wanted to see the consensus, what is the best way to prevent d-rings from getting stolen?!?

I keep one on the front bumper that is retained by the winch hook, the others go in the recovery bag until I'm on the trail.

I keep an old Phillips head screw driver in the glove box. I use it to crank the $hit out of the pin. It will not secure it from the thief with tools, but your average kid walking by won't be able to swipe it.

I had 6 of them and I'm down to 5 because someone took 1 off in a hardware store parking lot. I'm not why they took 1 and not the other on the front? I assumed they saw me coming.

Can you tack weld them?

Like mentioned, take them off or crank them down tight... I would prefer a trip wire that would give any would be thief an acid bath; but that might cause problems with the law…

They are only $10. I crank mine down. If someone wants to go through the trouble of stealing it....Have at it. I've got extras. God help you if I catch you though
