Default D30 30-spline ARB in a JK D30?

I know ARB made a Super30 kit for the TJs, giving it 30-spline shafts and a 30-spline ARB carrier. They don't make a JK-specific one yet.

But...

I was reading one of those 4x4 magazines, I think it was Petersen's, and they had the Reader's Rig sectin.

One kid had a TJ with JK axles (D30/D44). In the breakdown, he states JK D30 with 30-spline shafts and ARB.

I thought the D30 from the JK has a wider track than that of a TJ D30.

How did he make this happen? I'd like to put D44 sized shafts in a D30.

I've been wondering and waiting for a 30 spline ARB combo. I suspect a lot of JK development efforts in a lot of areas are now postponed due to the sluggish economy. As to how to use the TJ 30 spline version? Yes the JK has a wider track than the TJ so that's a really good question that I am not smart enough to answer.

The JK D44 Rubi front is 30 spline right? D44 Rear 32 or 30?

JK D30 is 27-spline.
JK D44 NON-Rubicon is 30-spline.
JK D44 Rubicon is 32-spline.

I'm talking about the front D30.

He states in the specifics JK D30 with 30-spline ARB and 30-spline shafts.

the ARB RD 104 will work and that is the 30 spline front dana 30 carrier. What we need is 30 spline axle shafts .

I'm just thinking how the hell did he get 30-spline shafts in the JK D30...

Unless he doesn't know what the guy at the shop installed for him and is just blowing steam...

Thanks, what would be the ramifications of using the D44 shaft in a JK D30? Too long?

I believe the D44 and D30 use the same tubes and outers. So in theory (I may be wrong) you might be able to use D44 30 spline shafts. But what model got the D44 front non rubicon.

The carrier on the 44 is bigger and wider so the 44 shafts are actually shorter than the 30 and the seal surface will be in the wrong place.

As far as I know they Wont work sorry.
