Default D44 diff cover measurement needed

I'm looking to find the distance from the mounting flange of the various d44 covers out there.

Hopefully that make sense, I'm looking for those that have the best clearance for the gas tank and also steering linkages.

I was under the impression that a D44 cover was a d44 cover and had the same dimentions unless it was aftermarket.....

Various d44 diff covers entails aftermarket diff covers.

I'm looking for some more protection for the ring gear but given what I am doing, will need to keep a low profile. So I want to know which covers are the shortest from the mounting flange.

All this involves is, if you have an aftermarket cover, going out and looking at the side profile of the diff cover, placing your tape on the surface that the diff cover bolts to the differential, and then measuring forward to the farthest point.
