Default D44 vs D60 Question

So I am currently trying to save money to purchase a Pro Rock 44 for the front of my JK and to regear and lock my factory rear non-Rubi 44. My question is more searching for opinions and maybe some better facts. I currently am running 37's and possibly in the future may upgrade tire sizes up to 40's or maybe even 42's (honestly not sure if that would happen or not) but I will at least run 37's. Should I spend the money on the PR 44 and get the factory rear internals to match the new front or would spending the extra coin up front and doing D60's front and rear better? I do drive my JK around town but also have a truck. When I wheel I am not afraid of the skinny pedal and do plan on eventually making trips to the Rubicon, Moab, etc. and doing the hardest trails I can muster to take my JK. Mind you I am active duty military and money isn't just falling into my lap. Thanks for any input. Trying to make an educated decision before I drop that much change on parts.

if you plan on running 40s+ i would not waste my time with 44s. 60s is a little over kill with 37s but you will extremely strong and not have to worry as much.
im getting 37s or 38s this summer and going to 60s
before you do PR 60s look into making your own or buying other axles and building them to fit your jk

You might want to consider salvaging some d60's from a dump, i know theres some f250's and such with perfectly good axles just waiting to be used.. And they will work just fine considering they are already geared, put some lockers on'em and yourgood to go

Except for the pesky electronics, of course. And the fact that they aren't coming from the factory with JK appropriate gearing, so that will need to be done. And the mounts are different, so there is another expense. And...

Junkyard axles can be a great idea. IF you go into it knowing the issues. But they certainly are not plug-n-play axles, as you indicate.

If you are thinking about 40+ inch tires, don't mess with beefing up your rear 44, go straight to 60's front/rear. And depending on how much fun you think you will want to have with those tires and how much weight you think you will add, you might consider a full float rear.
