Default dana 44?

I have an 08 sahara and confused of at what axels i have, im guessing dana 30 in front and 44 in back?? but that is completely a guess so correct me if im wrong, but i want to run 37s and i understand alot of you are going to jump on me, i would put the 37s on my d30 only untill i got the funds. where do i get the used d44? or any other suggestions? its my DD and i only take it on light trails maybe once every 3 months.

thanks in advance,
zach

Default you can do it

you can pull it off especaillly light trails and mainly dd but youll for sure need to regear you wont be able to drive with 37's or will but it will suck! and finding used d44 pretty hard ive been looking and when they do go for sale they are pretty expensive

You do have the D30 out front and the 44 in the rear if it has a tow pacage you have the 4.10 gears if not you have the 3.73 gearing and there is a noticable difference when putting on larger tires I have the auto in mine and OD is always off unless I have a tail wind going down hill. I as well am looking for a d44 for the front and it is very difficult in finding one. Even the Dynatrack D44 or prorock44 would work but I have only been finding the bare axles and need to reuse my gears and such. I also have been busy with work and only have limited time on the internet being over seas and what not. Good luck with your search.

jeez 37"s on stock gearing would be bad enough. imagine how easily you'd tear up the axles off road though.

i have 35"s and 5.38s. if there were bigger gears i'd probably get those too lol

IIRC the 08 Sahara with tow package has 3.73 gears.

yes, you'll have a 44 in the rear and so long as you aren't doing any hard wheeling, you should be okay with 37's on your 30. as far as used axles go, there are starting to be more and more people upgrading to dana 60's so i would imagine that they will become more available but, have you ever considered getting a dynatrac prorock 44? with the exception of a locker, gears and chromoly shafts (all things you would want to get anyway), these are designed to reuse your factory components such as your brakes, tie rod and draglink and at about $1500, the price point on them isn't too bad.

I apologize for hijacking but where would be a good place to purchase online a front Pro44 that all I would have to do is change over my brakes or purchase a set of larger aftermarket brakes.
